Delete an organization

Permanently remove an organization and schedule its customer data for deletion.

Last updated · Oct 21, 2026

Before deleting

Only the organization owner can delete it. This affects its websites, team memberships, conversations, attachments, search documents, AI settings and integrations. Installed widgets for those websites will no longer work. If the team should continue using SupportWhale, transfer ownership instead.

Delete the organization

  1. Select the correct organization in the sidebar.
  2. Open Organization and choose Delete organization.
  3. Check the displayed organization name and the deletion impact.
  4. Enter the exact organization name and your current password, then confirm deletion.
  5. Access is revoked and the organization disappears from the active organization list. Switch to another organization or create a new one if needed.

The deletion request is not a normal sign-out or a reversible archive action. Do not confirm it if you only want to remove your own membership.

What happens next

The service processes the data cleanup as a durable background task. Customer conversations, website records, private attachment objects and disposable search data are removed through that workflow. Access is blocked immediately even if cleanup is still running. Repeated processing must not restore the organization.

Your personal account and other organizations remain available. Backups and records that must legally be retained may follow separate retention rules; see the privacy notice. Contact support if a deletion request reports an error or you need information about its processing.
