SupportWhale vs. Chatwoot: choose how much you want to manage.

Do you mainly want to answer customers, or also control the hosting and setup of your support platform? Chatwoot offers cloud and self-hosted options; compare those choices separately.

SupportWhale

When SupportWhale fits

You want to spend time on customers and your product. A managed, focused support workspace with one inbox, analytics and feedback fits that approach; you do not maintain a support server yourself.

Chatwoot

When the other product fits

You want open source or hosting on your own infrastructure. Chatwoot offers a Community Edition for that. You can also choose Chatwoot Cloud if you prefer managed hosting. [2]

Free software still needs maintenance when you host it yourself.

Community Edition has no software subscription. You arrange your own infrastructure and maintenance. Captain and several administration capabilities belong to paid self-hosted plans. Compare that total responsibility with a hosted service. [2]

Do we want to maintain our support platform too?

Self-hosting can be a deliberate choice for control and customization. Assign ownership of maintenance as well. If you prefer to start helping customers, compare SupportWhale with Chatwoot Cloud based on daily workflows and your actual team size.
